Sony seems to have essentially abandoned PS Vita, which in light of NS Switch's success, seems foolish and a failure to understand its own once promising handheld platform. They've only remasted some bigger name PSP games instead. I regret that Sony hasn't remastered some of my favorite PSP games to utilize the 2nd PS Vita thumbstick, such as Killzone: Liberation and SOCOM: Tactical Strike. Having a 2nd 'mushroom-style' thumbstick on a handheld was a delight. My connection reliability was lousy as I was connecting to WiFi on Vita, not a direct internet connection per se. I blew myself up so much I just stopped using hand grenades ever. It was fun enough but tossing hand grenades via back-panel-touchpad was ridiculous. I did play Helldivers a few dozen hours on PS VIta in mid-2015. I never was good at precision aiming in any sort of a game with a controller, and will always prefer having a mouse and crosshairs in any twin-stick shooter as we get on PC. Makes sense to me even though I abandoned full size console gaming after PlayStation 2. If it is, then it doesn't really matter, but if it isn't, that's a hard sell IMO. I'm not sure if the PS4 version is 60FPS or not. I thoroughly love the PC version because of that 60FPS (seriously, it is a huge help in being able to quickly identify threats and makes it easier to pay attention to the action). I haven't ran into a single person on PC who was some salty fuck who kicked everybody for trying to have fun, and most of the time people are laughing at all the chaos happening.Į: Honestly, I prefer PC, but I only got to play Helldivers on my Vita and PS3. Can't speak for Playstation because I haven't played it there in a long time. As far as "toxicity" goes, there's not much of it on PC. My sources for this come from my early day experiences with the game on PC, lots of level 1 dudes who seemed to have complete understanding of the game as if they had played it for a long time (reloading me when they have the support pack for the recoilless rifle, for example). I migrated to PC after it came out on Steam, and I think there's plenty of others from Playstation who did the same just to continue supporting Arrowhead. I want to say they're probably very similar. Hard to say which one is "more active" than the other. Just comes down to the communities you want to play with. Even on PC I still prefer playing this game with a controller, and also even on PC, you can still have local co-op if you hook up multiple controllers. I've played extensively on both platforms, and I think either work fine.
